A service for a mobility scooter or electric wheelchair will usually take 1 – 2 hours to complete.

 

What if you find an issue whilst carrying out a service?2019-08-07T18:58:11+01:00

If we discover an issue whilst carrying out a service we will advise you of your options. One of the reasons to get a service is to also check to see if there’s any underlying or unnoticed problems. If there is an underlying issue it could worsen overtime.

How often should I service my mobility scooter or electric wheelchair?2019-08-07T18:18:39+01:00

Mobility scooters and electric wheelchairs should generally be serviced every 12 months by a competent engineer. If you have a new mobility product we’d recommend you contact the supplier as it may be required they service it as part of your guarantee.

 

What if I need batteries for my mobility scooter or powered wheelchair?2019-08-08T00:46:31+01:00

As part of an annual stairlift service we will test the batteries to ensure they are in good working order. Mobility scooter or powerchair batteries generally last on average of 2-3 years and if they are in need of replacement then these will be provided at a discounted rate of our standard battery replacement price.

What happens during a service?2019-08-08T00:46:11+01:00

Every time we carry out a mobility scooter service, we go through the following items in detail:

  • Checking of all nuts, bolts and screws that attach to shrouds, seats, chassis and brackets that form part of the scooter.
  • Greasing of all key moving components that are common on scooters, for example; ball joints, tie rods, suspension etc.
  • Load testing of the mobility scooter batteries to ensure they are in proper working order with the option of getting discounted replacements if needed.
  • Inspection and testing of all electrical components of the scooter, for example; lights, key, speed control, buttons etc.
  • Test and inspection of the main motor and gearbox to ensure no damage and that the brushes are in good working order.
  • Full top to bottom damage check to ensure there’s no dangers or potential future issues that could arise.
