This policy explains how MobilityRepair.ie, part of The Mobility Guy Services ("we", "us"), collects and uses your personal information when you use this website or contact us about a mobility scooter, powerchair or stairlift repair, service or battery replacement. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Irish data-protection law.
What information we collect
When you fill in our booking form or callback request, or email or call us, we may collect:
- Your name
- Your phone number and, if you provide it, your email address
- Your county and town/area
- Details about your mobility equipment and the problem you describe
- Your contact preference and how urgent the job is
Our web server and analytics may also collect standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit.
Our online instant estimate
If you use our online instant estimate tool, we collect the address or Eircode you search for, the equipment and service you choose, your timing preference, any battery size or battery type answers and any issue description you add, together with the prices we calculate.
- Address and Eircode searches are sent to Google Maps Platform to look up the address and work out the driving route and time to you.
- A completed price calculation is recorded and emailed to our office even if you do not give us your contact details or request a visit. In that case it contains no name, phone number or email address.
- We ask for your contact details only if you email yourself the estimate or request a visit. We use them only to respond to you and arrange the work, never for marketing.
- An online result is an estimate. Our office confirms every estimate before any final price or appointment, and nothing is paid online.
Estimate records are kept in line with the retention period described below.
How we use your information
We use the information you give us only to:
- Respond to your enquiry and give you a quote
- Arrange and carry out a callout, repair, service or battery replacement
- Contact you about your booking by your preferred method
- Keep a record of the work for warranty and follow-up purposes
The legal basis for this is your consent and our legitimate interest in responding to and fulfilling your request.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone. Enquiries are delivered to our own email inbox (hosted by Google) and stored securely. We only share information with third parties where necessary to provide the service (for example a parts supplier) or where required by law.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and job records only for as long as necessary to provide our service, honour any guarantee on parts, and meet our legal and accounting obligations — after which they are securely deleted.
Cookies & analytics
This website uses essential cookies needed for it to function. With your consent, we may also use analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. You can accept or decline non-essential cookies using the banner shown on your first visit, and you can clear cookies at any time in your browser settings.
Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct or update it
- Ask us to delete it ("right to be forgotten")
- Object to or restrict how we use it
- Withdraw your consent at any time
To exercise any of these rights, just get in touch using the details below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
